Rules

Outbid is a public leaderboard that resets every day at midnight UTC. There are no ads, no API keys, and no revenue share. You pay to stand above everyone else. Rank is the bid - nothing else.

How ranking works

  • Bids are whole US dollars: $1 minimum, $999,999 maximum, $1 at a time. Every day starts from an empty board at 00:00 UTC, and your spot is yours until the next reset, up to 24 hours.
  • Taking #1 costs at least $1 more than the current top bid. Paying less still puts you on the board at whatever rank that bid can take.
  • Equal bids stay in the order they were placed, the older bid keeps the higher rank.
  • Enter the same website again to raise your listing to any rank. The new total must be at least $1 above your current bid; you only pay the difference. Someone else cannot take your rank by paying that difference.
  • App Store, Play Store, GitHub, and similar platform links are keyed by their path, so different apps don't share a bid. Tracking query strings are ignored.

What you can list

  • A product website only: web apps, Chrome extensions, tools, landing pages. Social profiles (X/Twitter and similar) are not accepted.
  • Gambling and betting websites are not allowed.
  • Crypto and Web3 websites are not allowed.
  • Porn, adult content or adult tools are not allowed.
  • Movie and music streaming, download or piracy sites are not allowed.
  • Chat and invite links are not allowed. Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Messenger, Signal and similar. The board is for products, not group chats.
  • Query parameters are stripped from listing links. Affiliate, referral, and tracking URLs will not work.
  • Link shortener URLs are not allowed. If you submit one, it may be replaced by the URL it redirects to.

After you pay

  • Your listing goes live as soon as your payment completes, until tonight's reset.
  • Clicks go to the URL or profile you submitted, without query parameters.
  • A completed payment is what claims the rank.
  • Your listing earns two links. See Backlinks & SEO below.

Backlinks & SEO

Every listing earns two links:

  • History archive: permanent dofollow. Your link in the history archive is clean and followed, passes full ranking credit, and stays that way forever. This is your long-term SEO asset.
  • Daily leaderboard: sponsored. While you are ranked, your board link is marked rel="sponsored", Google's required disclosure for paid placements. It still drives all referral traffic and gets crawled.

Why not dofollow on the leaderboard too? Undisclosed paid links violate Google's link-spam policies. If this site were penalized, every backlink it passes, including your permanent history link, would lose its value. Keeping the daily board compliant is what protects the long-term worth of your archive link.
